HISTORY
Torino opened as a pizzeria in Tecumseh Town in 1971 serving pizza, pasta,
chicken, ribs, hamburgers and sandwiches for pick-up and delivery. Gerry Deluca
founded the business as Chef and owner in partnership with his brother-in-law
Philip Coppola.
Seeking to provide a more formal dining experience, the Pizzeria was moved
across the street in 1982 where it expanded it's services to include a full-service
dining room with an extensive menu including a variety of pasta, veal and seafood
dishes. A fast growing catering service developed and to keep pace with the growing
demand, a 400 capacity banquet hall was built and opened in 1989. The dining
room was later extended to include a beautiful solarium for private parties.
Today "Torino Pizzeria" is "Torino Plaza" providing a multifaceted
operation to service all aspects of the food industry.
